The Preatoni Story traces its origins to the late 1960s when Ernesto Preatoni embarked on his career as a financial consultant. In 1985, he demonstrated exceptional financial insight through the historic Bi-Invest takeover, a pioneering event in the Milan Stock Market. This success was followed by strategic takeovers of Banca Popolare di Lecco and Credito Bergamasco in 1987, solidifying Ernesto's reputation as a strategic leader.

The 1990s marked a new chapter with Ernesto's venture into Sharm El Sheikh, where he initiated the Domina Coral Bay project—a pivotal hotel complex that catalyzed the Red Sea tourism boom.
